This unique British art from the 17th Century has been revived in some British ateliers and we are proud to bring you a big selection of English enamels on copper handpainted by only the best factories of British artists. Each English enamel box is first designed, this is a process done in two phases: the design of the english enamel top lid of the box and the design of the english enamel base of the box. Once the design is approved the real production of the english enamel starts. The lid is handpainted with very fine rabbit hair for the thiner paint strokes and then the base of the English enamel is also hand painted and decorated. The base of the english enamel is a copper box which has an enamel cover on which the artists paints. Once the English enamel has a lid and a decorated base the final process of the hinge comes and master coppersmiths do this job. This is how after all this traditional method the artisans manufacture today these Brtish enamels in the same way they were made over 3 centuries ago.
